Columbia County man charged with car wash burglaries

A 35-year-old man is accused of stealing from a car wash in Greenport on several occasions.

Under arrest is Joseph Shook of Stockport.

Back on April 22, state police were called to a car wash for a report of two possible break-ins.

An investigation finds that Shook burglarized the car wash on 10 occasions.

Police say he stole more than $4,000 and damaged the vending machine and the coin dispenser.

Shook is charged with 10 counts of burglary, criminal mischief and grand larceny.
