Interim Cambridge schools leader to step down next spring
The leader for the Cambridge Central School District will step down at the end of March.
Ken Facin announced last week that he will be resigning effective March 31 to take on consulting work with an organization this spring.
The district said in a statement that Facin will ensure that work is completed on the 2025-2026 budget before he leaves.
“It has been a privilege and honor to lead the Cambridge School District over the past 18 months,” Facin said in a statement. “Together we have moved many important projects forward to resolution and completion. Thank you for the opportunity to do good work on behalf of students, families, faculty and staff.”
The board is reviewing its options to find an interim superintendent for the remaining of the school year. The district is continuing its efforts to find a permanent superintendent to start July 1.
Cambridge has not had a permanent superintendent since Douglas Silvernell retired near the start of the 2023-2024 school year.
