The fire department respond to the scene after 12:30 Sunday morning. A multi-apartment home burnt down in a 2nd alarm.

Two people have been displaced after a structure fire Sunday Morning in Greenville.

The Greenville Volunteer Fire Company said the call came in around 12:30 Sunday morning for a 2nd alarm fire on Maple Avenue in Greenville.

Flames could be seen in video shooting through the roof of the multi-apartment home as heavy smoke filled the air.

Firefighters fighting the fire for more than seven hours with crews finally putting the fire out around 7:30 Sunday morning.

East Durham Fire Company responded to the fire as mutual aid and provided five loads of water.

The American Red Cross provided aid to the two people who were displaced.

The Greenville Volunteer Fire Company said the home is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
