Marshall running for Saratoga Springs DPW commissioner

Candidacy announced for Saratoga Springs Commissioner of Public Works

Chuck Marshall announced his campaign for Saratoga Springs Commissioner of Public Works on Thursday.

Chuck Marshall announced his campaign for Saratoga Springs commissioner of public works on Thursday. The race is part of a special election, scheduled for Jan. 28. Early voting starts on Jan. 18.

Marshall, who works at the corporate level of Stewart’s, made the announcement at Saratoga City Tavern, with local, county, and state elected officials there.

Marshall could flip the Democratic seat to Republican.

“I’d like to implement a project I call Saratoga Green for Green, which is a utilization of a green energy technology to reinvest in either old buildings or to offset some of the electric of the city’s nonprofits,” he said.

His five-point plan in the election includes dedicated sidewalk funding, eliminating downtown paid parking, and lead what he’s calling smart infrastructure projects.

The special election is to fill the seat of Jason Golub, who resigned to take a state job.

The Democrats do not have a candidate on the ballot. They are telling people to write in the name of Hank Kuczynski, who was appointed to the seat.
