The Riverview Bridge over the Northway is now open to alternating traffic, for the first time since last June.

The bridge is above the Northway between Exits 7 and exit 8.

The bridge closed after it was struck by an overheight vehicle last June.

The State Department of Transportation says drivers should be prepared to stop when approaching the bridge.

Meanwhile, New York State Department of Transportation engineers are working on plans for a permanent replacement bridge.
