Ladies Nordic Ski Lesson & Lunch Event at Brookhaven Winter Park
Women looking to learn or refine their cross-country skiing skills have a special opportunity coming up at Brookhaven Winter Park. The park will host a “lesson and lunch” program on March 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 333 Alpine Meadows Rd., Porter Corners.
The event includes a one-hour lesson tailored to participants’ experience levels, followed by a meal at The View Restaurant. The cost of the program is $40 for residents and $48 for non-residents, which covers equipment rental, lunch, and a beverage of choice. After lunch, participants are encouraged to continue skiing or, for those who prefer, they may opt to snowshoe instead.
The initiative is inspired by Greenfield’s successful women’s golf “lesson & lunch” program held last summer. Recreation Director Jennifer Zeisler expressed enthusiasm for the event, emphasizing the value of outdoor exercise and social engagement.
“It’s fun to invite ladies out to enjoy time together,” Zeisler said. “Whether you are trying something new or want to improve, we hope you’ll join us for a day of exercise outdoors and a unique social gathering with friends. Nordic skiing is such great exercise, and there’s no better place to try it than at Brookhaven Winter Park.”
Brookhaven Winter Park, a free Nordic ski and snowshoe park operated by the Town of Greenfield, has expanded its offerings this year with a winter rental and gift shop. The shop is open Thursdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and has extended hours until 6 p.m. on Thursdays. The park boasts seven cross-country ski trails and two snowshoe loops, totaling 20 kilometers of scenic winter terrain. Equipment rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
For women interested in an active and social winter outing, this event promises both skill-building and camaraderie in a beautiful natural setting.
