MCLA student arrested after social media threats

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – A student at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams is accused of making threats on social media targeting residence halls.

NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle report 18-year-old Joseph Caso from Long Island was arrested and banned from campus.

Police say the threat was made in a group forum on Snapchat. It led to a campus-wide lockdown that lasted about 40 minutes.

Caso told authorities the threat was an attempt at "dark humor."
