Schumer wants congressional gold medals for 1980 ‘Miracle on Ice’ team

Senator Chuck Schumer is pushing for congressional gold medals, for members of the “Miracle on Ice”, 1980 Olympic hockey team.
The team, comprised of amateur athletes, defeated the four-time Olympic champion Soviet Union team in Lake Placid, going on to win gold medals.
Schumer met with team members, including former Captain Michael Anthony Eruzione, on Capitol Hill to push for his legislation to award congressional gold medals to the team.
