Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is speaking out against a plan to reduce the overtime threshold for farmworkers.
Fellow Rep. Lee Zeldin, who is New York’s Republican Candidate for governor, and farm owners are joining Stefanik at an Albany County farm.
The proposal would push the overtime threshold for farmworkers down to 40 hours a week from its current 60 hours.
Supporters say farmworkers deserve the same workplace protections as any other employee.
