Flash flood watch in effect for parts of Capital Region
Rain will become heavy at times for Greene, Columbia, and southern Berkshire counties. Along and just north of I-90 it will take longer for the rain to move in, perhaps until later in the afternoon. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers. For the Mohawk Valley, Upper Hudson Valley and North Country, clouds will continue to increase and thicken, but it will likely stay dry all day with a sharp cutoff of rainfall through the Capital Region. Highs will range from the mid 60s to mid 70s.
By tonight and into very early Thursday, the heaviest rain will fall, primarily south of Albany. This could lead to flash flooding as already wet soil will see significant rainfall overnight. During the morning, skies will clear out and there will be increasing sunshine during the afternoon, with highs in the lower to mid 70s.
It will be mostly sunny on Friday, with a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday. Right now, it looks like the best chance for showers will be on Sunday, with a lower chance on Monday. Highs for the holiday weekend will be in the mid 70s.
