A new partnership between the University at Albany and GlobalFoundries will give the chip-maker's employees help with higher education.

The new education partnership includes application fee waivers, priority application review for eligible undergraduate and graduate programs, deferred billing options, and affordable online tuition rates for out-of-state employees.

Employees can also use the company's tuition reimbursement program.

As NewsChannel 13 reported, the company plans to build a new semiconductor facility in Malta over the next few years.
It's expected to add 1,000 jobs.
