1 person killed in crash that shut down part of Thruway

One person is dead after a horrible crash on the Thruway.
The crash between a tractor-trailer and a car happened around 10 a.m. Thursday morning, between Exits 24 and 25.
State police say the driver of the trailer was traveling eastbound when they lost control and went through the median, into oncoming traffic. The trailer hit the westbound car head-on.
The driver of the car was killed. The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
One lane on westbound traffic was still closed as of Thursday afternoon.
Police are trying to figure out why the tractor trailer driver lost control.
