March 3 marks 50 years since one of the worst airline disasters in Capital Region history.

Mohawk Airlines Flight 405 had engine trouble, and crashed into a home on Edgewood Avenue off Washington Avenue.

There were 48 people on board. The pilot, co-pilot, 14 passengers and a person in the house died.

A survivor, Major General Lawrence Flynn of Saratoga, spoke with former NewsChannel 13 anchor Jim Kambrich in 2012 about that night.
