Environmental activists are calling on Gov. Hochul to make a $15 billion investment on climate programs this year.

The group called New York Renews says Hochul’s proposed budget falls short on climate spending.

The big climate items in the governor’s budget are a $4 billion environmental bond act and $500 million in offshore wind development.
While $15 billion may seem steep, they claim climate pollution is already costing the state nearly twice that.
