Albany County program helps put kids on path to being first responders

Albany County is expanding its First Responder Explorer Program.

It provides classroom and hands-on experience for young people, so they can understand what it’s like to be a first responder.

The program is essential to help local communities find and hire new first responders. That has been a big issue across the country, because so many municipalities are struggling to find firefighters, EMTs and police officers.
