New coronavirus cases nearly doubled in Albany County from Tuesday into Wednesday.

The county reported 211 new cases in their Wednesday update. It’s the biggest one-day climb since late January.

Nine more people were hospitalized, bringing the number of hospitalizations to 61.

Sadly, a man in his 70s died.

County health leaders are once again urging for people to go get vaccinated, and wear masks indoors.
