Albany County reports highest single-day COVID increase since start of pandemic

Albany County is reporting their highest single-day COVID increase since the start of the pandemic.

There are 471 new cases since Tuesday.

This shatters the old daily record of 351 cases reported on January 12.

There are now 1,122 active cases in the county, up from 1,028 cases the day before.

In addition, 58 county residents are hospitalized, a net decrease of three.

There are seven people in the ICU, down from eight people the day before.

Sadly, a woman in her 60s has died, bringing the county’s death toll to 470 since the pandemic began.
