Albany County reports record 1,010 new COVID cases in single day

Albany County is reporting 1,010 new COVID cases in one day. That’s the highest daily number of new COVID cases since the pandemic began, breaking the old record of 1,003 reported on New Year’s Eve.

There are now 4,662 active cases in the county, up from 3,949 the day before.

There are 99 people hospitalized with the virus, a net decrease of 10. Twelve people are in the ICU.

Sadly, a woman in her 30s has died from the virus, bringing the death toll to 474 since the pandemic began.
