Albany County won’t ask city to cover OT for deputies

Albany County will not ask the city of Albany to pay it back for the overtime paid to sheriff’s deputies.

County Republicans had submitted a request to the city for the money. They say overtime costs soared because of increased public safety patrols needed in Albany.

However, the county legislature voted down a resolution to seek the reimbursement last night.

Legislature Chairman Andrew Joyce released a statement saying in part, "we are one Albany County and we stand together in times of trouble."
