Albany County’s COVID death toll hits 400

Albany County is reporting another death from COVID, bringing the county’s death toll to 400 people since the start of the pandemic.

There were 57 new cases reported in an emailed briefing on Tuesday.

Four more people are hospitalized, bringing the number to 34 county residents in the hospital. Nine people are in the ICU.

Albany County Executive Dan McCoy says among the patients hospitalized with COVID, 70% were not vaccinated.

The seven-day positivity rate in the county is 4.5%. The Capital Region’s positivity rate is up to 4.4%.
