Several people have been arrested during an operation aiming to address drug trafficking and gang activity in the city of Albany.

Albany police and U.S. Marshals dubbed it "Operation Turnbuckle."

Detectives began an investigation in March into several people responsible for distributing dangerous narcotics in areas along Central Avenue including Robin Street, Lexington Avenue and Sherman Street.

Altogether, 18 people have been arrested and are facing drug charges.

Police seized cocaine, heroin and fentanyl, as well as loaded handguns.
