On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at about 9:40 p.m., officers responded to the area of Cherry Street and Dongan Ave. That was for a shots-fired call.

Police say three people were involved in a road rage incident. That’s when, police said, the driver of a pick-up truck intentionally drove toward a man and woman. He hit them with his truck, police said.

A 24-year-old woman was pinned under the vehicle, and received bone fractures and a head injury.

A 24-year-old man fractured his ankle.

Police say their injuries are not life-threatening.

The driver of the truck is 53-year-old Peter Strandhart of Albany. He’s been charged with one count of assault in the first degree and one count of assault in the second degree.

He was arraigned Thursday in Albany City Criminal Court and is in the Albany County Jail.
