A 32-year-old man from Albany was sentenced to nearly four years in prison for trying to take a loaded weapon on a plane.

NewsChannel 13 first told you about Josef Jarvis’ arrest last summer.

He was sentenced today for keeping a loaded .40 caliber weapon in his carry-on bag.

TSA intercepted the bag at the checkpoint at Albany International Airport.

Jarvis pleaded guilty to the charges.

Prosecutors say Jarvis was also a felon when he was caught.

His prior convictions were for racketeering and weapons offenses.
