Albany Med researchers to use 3 million dollar grant to study COPD

Albany Med is getting a nearly $3 million grant from the National Institutes of Health.
The money will be used to study how carbon dioxide and metabolism affect chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder.
COPD is a group of diseases, including emphysema and chronic bronchitis – that block airflow to the lungs.
The American Lung Association says more than 16 million Americans have been diagnosed with COPD.
