All Amazon 4-Star stores to close as part of scaling back

Amazon is scaling back its brick-and-mortar presence.

CNBC reports the company will be closing its Pop-Up, Books, and Amazon 4-Star Stores.

The company opened an Amazon 4-Star store at Crossgates Mall in Guilderland about a year ago.

Amazon says the closure dates will vary by store.

CNBC reports Amazon’s physical stores saw lower sales in 2021 than 2018.

The company also owns Whole Foods. However, that chain is not part of the announced closures.
