Amsterdam police warn about scam targeting grandparents

Amsterdam police say scammers are at it again and this time, they are targeting grandparents in the Capital Region.
They posted on Facebook that someone is calling people and claiming to be their grandson.
The scammer not only knew the grandson’s name, but also the name of his girlfriend.
Police are asking you to stay alert. They also say to call and check with your family member if you think you’re being scammed.
