GLENVILLE – It has happened again. A truck has hit the bridge over Glenridge Road in Glenville.
Glenville’s town supervisor posted pictures to Facebook after the truck hit the bridge Wednesday afternoon.
There are no reports of injuries.
Trucks have been getting stuck under the bridge for years. The New York State Department of Transportation is installing a paved turnaround before drivers approach the bridge.
To help draw attention to the turnaround, DOT is putting in an infrared detection system. When a truck comes through that is too tall for the bridge, signs will flash with a message warning the driver to use the turnaround. That is set to be completed in 2023.
