After noxious gas forced the evacuation of 14 people from their Voorheesville homes last week, Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple now says "it was no accident."
The sheriff says 57-year old Patrick Weaver intentionally cut the gas line to his dryer, causing his home and seven other homes on Lexington Court to quickly fill up with gas. Apple says it could have caused a mass casualty incident.
Weaver is charged with seven misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment. He’s free on recognizance and due back in New Scotland Town Court at a later date.
