Asian UAlbany students recall painful moments of racism

University at Albany students Ji-Won Lee, Tingting Liu and Jaci Yong are sharing what life has been like as a student in the Capital Region since COVID hit.

Lee and Liu are both PhD Students in the sociology department. Both participated in and did a lot of their own research on the impact of the pandemic on people who are AAPI, Asian American Pacific Islander.

Yong is an undergrad student. She’s a sophomore studying psychology and neuroscience.

They say hurtful comments are just some of the painful moments they’ve had to endure.
