Anjelica Zingarino is hospitalized in New York City, but her friends were gathering Thursday night, raising some money and raising her spirits.

For a woman of just 30, Zingarino has made a big impact. Her friends in the local restaurant and craft brewing industries are letting her know how much she means to them.
People who know Zingarino well describe her as gregarious, enthusiastic, a woman who changes the tone of a room simply by walking into it.
However, these days, she’s confined to a hospital bed. Sloan Kettering in New York City has been her home for all but two weeks since September.

She has lymphoma, which started with a cough last April. The cancer is spreading and to make matters worse, Zingarino has a rare genetic disorder that makes her resistant to chemotherapy.

She’s a graduate of SUNY Schenectady’s brewing program and worked at Common Roots and several other local restaurants. Her friends in the industry held a big fundraiser at The Hideaway in Stillwater on Thursday night.
