Berkshire County officially has second-highest rate of new COVID in continental US

Berkshire County is especially feeling the effects of COVID subvariants.
As of Wednesday, Berkshire County was behind only Middlesex County in Connecticut in terms of new daily infections in the continental United States. Those numbers do not include at-home tests.
That puts Berkshire County well ahead of the state’s other 13 counties in terms of new infections by population, a situation that has been driving up hospitalizations.
