HADLEY – The sweetest season of the year is drawing to a close, and maple producers are sharing their bounty.

To celebrate the season, there’s a tradition in Hadley, Saratoga County. It’s called the Maple in April Festival and it takes place the last weekend of April each year. This year, Saturday, April 30.

This year, they’re celebrating 20 years of the Maple in April. Visitors will enjoy a variety of sweet activities, including food and craft vendors, horse-drawn wagon rides, the "Maple Experience" exhibit, and a car show.

Sugar shacks like Wilder’s will be open for visits – where Ernie and Sue Wilder look forward to sharing their craft with visitors. In addition, they will have a French toast breakfast to fund scholarships for graduating seniors who are pursuing careers in business or the arts.

That’s not all. They’ve also got a little maple syrup competition going on.

Learn about that by watching the video of Mark Mulholland’s story.
