Bishop Scharfenberger recovering from colon surgery

The Albany Roman Catholic Diocese says Bishop Edward Scharfenberger recently underwent surgery.
He had part of his colon removed at St. Peter’s Hospital on Wednesday due to the presence of cancer cells.
They say a polyp was discovered during a routine colonoscopy.
His doctors say the polyp was successfully removed and the bishop continues his recovery.
