Boy, 14, dies after Troy car crash

TROY – A 14-year-old boy has died following a car crash in Troy.
The crash happened Friday afternoon on Hoosick Street, outside the Hudson River Commons Plaza. Police say a car turning into the plaza was hit by a car coming down Hoosick Street.
The boy, Jerome Smith, died at a hospital.
The crash is under investigation, but police don’t think impaired driving played a role.
