CAPCOM, Mohawk Auto Group giving back to community

Here are a couple of examples of Capital Region businesses giving back.

CAPCOM Federal Credit Union and its charitable giving arm, the CAPCOM Cares Foundation, is giving $100,000 to be divided among 10 Capital Region nonprofit organizations.

The "Infrastructure Initiative" program supports projects that nonprofits often find difficult to fund, like HVAC and security upgrades, or a new roof, ramp or grounds improvements. These projects are vital for organizations to serve their constituents, but can be delayed or unaddressed due to a lack of resources.

CAPCOM’s beneficiaries include AIM Services Inc., BlueLight Development Group, Eden’s Rose Foundation and Foster Can Inc.,

Meanwhile, Mohawk Auto Group employees recently went out of their way to please two educational agencies serving preschool aged kids. Mohawk employees volunteered at New Meadow School in Clifton Park and Crossroads Center for Children in Rotterdam, painting picnic tables, landscaping and more.

"Our team at Mohawk Honda cares about our community and this is one way we know how to give back," said Mohawk Honda General Manager Greg Johnson. "The day was a family affair with spouses, partners and children of employees coming out to help."
