Capital Region real estate sales had big 2021

The year 2021 was huge for Capital Region real estate sales.
Data released from the Greater Capital Association of Realtors shows the four biggest counties in the Capital Region – Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady – saw big increases over 2020.
Schenectady County led the way with closed sales up 19.2% in 2021. Saratoga County sales were up 8.4% in 2021. Albany County was up 6.4% in 2021. Rensselaer County closed sales were up 4.8% over 2020.
On average, across Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady counties, homes were on the market for just 27.5 days in 2021 compared to 42.75 days in 2021.
