The United States has recorded the first human case of a highly contagious bird flu.

A strain of avian flu has likely killed hundreds of birds and spread across more than two dozen states.

Health officials say the man was working on a commercial farm in Colorado and was involved in culling poultry suspected to be infected, when he was directly exposed to the virus.

The man is younger than 40 years old and is only reporting feeling fatigue. He’s taking the antiviral drug Tamiflu.
