‘Child Care Deserts’ to get $700M in NYS funding

$70,000,000 in funding is coming to areas known as ‘Child Care Deserts.’

Governor Kathy Hochul says the money will be available to newly licensed, registered or permitted child care programs in parts of New York without sufficient child care.

The money is part of the $100,000,000 Child Care Desert Initiative.

The grants will help new child care providers in underserved areas build their program, cover start-up and personnel costs.

Applications open In April; you can apply by visiting the Office of Children and Family Services: Division of Child Care Services.
