CLIFTON PARK – The tree that will be on display at East Capitol Park this holiday season was cut down Friday morning.

Sally and Chas Heritage donated the 35-foot blue spruce.

Sally says she has always wanted to do it and saw the call for a tree put on the news this year.

They’ve lived at their home in Clifton Park for 45 years and are excited for people to enjoy the tree that’s meant so much to them.

They plan to go see the tree lit up in front of the Capitol.

They added they will plant a new tree in the same spot come spring.
