Clifton Park man accused of attack

A Clifton Park man is under arrest for engaging in a criminal sexual act.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says Michael Girard attacked a person he knew earlier this week. Deputies say he tried to strangle the victim and prevent the victim from leaving the area.

Girard is facing several charges, including first-degree criminal sexual act – a felony – as well as third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment – all misdemeanors.

A judge arraigned him, and he will be back in court at a later date.
