Colonie Little League celebrated Bob Friss Day on Saturday at Cook Park to honor the late manager who passed away in March at the age of 83. Bob’s son Mark was a pitcher on the 1973 team that won the Eastern Regional and went to the Little League World Series. Bob’s wife Lorraine was also there to honor her husband, whose 1973 and 1980 teams won the New York State championship. Friss coached youth baseball at Colonie Little League for 22 years starting in 1969 and his memories will live on forever.
