Colonie police warn of scam calls using their name

Colonie police are receiving reports of scam calls.

The scammers are saying they’re from a federal organization called Org. The caller claims they are a division of the Federal Reserve.

When the caller starts getting asked questions, the scammer puts a female on the phone who claims to be an investigator with the Colonie Police Department and uses their phone numbers.

Colonie police are reminding everyone to not give out their personal information.
