Court documents reveal details in Duanesburg homicide case
Documents are revealing new details about what first responders saw when they arrived at a Duanesburg home Wednesday night to find three people stabbed.
NewsChannel 13 has obtained court documents showing that the case was presented to a Grand Jury in Schenectady County Tuesday morning.
Nelson Patino, 47, is accused of stabbing his wife and two sons, 5 and 2 years old. His wife and 5-year-old died. The 2-year-old survived. The papers describe how officers responded to a report of a man who said he stabbed his family and he did not know why. Documents say police ordered Patino on the ground and took him into custody.
According to the court documents, Patino’s wife, Alexandria Bustamante Gomez, who was known as Sor Patino, was conscious and alert but laying on the ground when police and paramedics arrived. The documents say there was a language barrier, but she told paramedics there were two children in the house. She did not tell first responders what happened at the scene. She died later at the hospital.
Paramedics tried to save the 5-year-old boy, Jacob, but the court papers say he had already lost too much blood. Documents describe how responders gave the boy CPR for 10 to 15 minutes before stopping.
