NewsChannel 13 obtained court documents on Friday in connection with a deadly July 4 boating accident on Saratoga Lake.

The new details were first reported by the Daily Gazette.

The papers name 19-year-old Blake Heflin. He’s accused of boating while drunk on Saratoga Lake on July 4, resulting in a fatality.

The court papers do not specifically say Heflin caused the accident. They do say he refused a blood test, and was compelled to take one by court order.

Ian Gerber died in the crash that day. The Ballston Spa man was just 20 years old. He was just laid to rest earlier this week.
