This comes shortly after the state announced new eligibility for that second booster dose.

Those eligible are adults 50 or older, as well as those who got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine four months after their first booster – along with people who are immunocompromised over the age of 12.

Albany County Health Commissioner Dr. Elizabeth Whalen is encouraging people thinking about the second booster to have a conversation with their healthcare provider.

She acknowledges some people might have COVID vaccine fatigue.
