COVID testing driving big rise in Saratoga Hospital urgent care visits

SARATOGA SPRINGS – The number of urgent care visits at the Saratoga Hospital are up 50%.

The hospital’s executive vice president says it’s being primarily driven by COVID testing.

He says 70% of all urgent care patients want a COVID test. That number is up 85% in the last week.

"The volume that we’re seeing for our urgent cares is volume we’ve never seen before, so folks are working in strenuous situations," said Jeffrey Methven, the Executive VP of Saratoga Hospital.

The vice president also says the number of hospital beds available is going up, as more people get vaccinated and boosted.
