Deputies arrest 10 people in connection with Nassau assault case

The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 10 people in connection with an assault in Nassau.
Deputies say they found a 21-year-old with significant injuries at the gravel pit between Smith Hill Road and Nassau Averill Park Road back on July 31. They say there was a party there of about 400 to 600 people.
After investigating, police arrested 19-year-old Tyler Kruegler of Latham, who they say initiated the assault.
Devon Newman, 19, is also charged with assault. Police say 19-year-old Ryan Duryea is accused of giving alcohol to minors. Police say seven additional arrests were also made, including two people under the age of 18.
