Digital visitor kiosks debut in Schenectady County

Schenectady is going high-tech to help people learn about its attractions. Discover Schenectady has deployed eight digital visitor kiosks throughout Schenectady County.
It’s being done through a partnership with the company Hootboard.
The network of touchscreen kiosks offers visitors on-demand information – and helps local businesses promote their services.
Right now, you can find the new kiosks at eight locations, including Rivers Casino, Proctors, ViaPort Rotterdam and the Jay Street Marketplace.
Local businesses are listed for free and suggested itineraries are provided for folks looking for something to do during the day.
There are options if you have one hour to spare, or are in town for a longer period of time.
Paid advertising on the kiosks will offset the cost of regular service and maintenance.
