Displaced family gets help from the American Red Cross

Officials say seven children, two adults and a dog are left without a place to live after a fire destroyed their home Sunday morning.

It all happened around 5:30 in the morning on Maplewood Avenue in Schenectady. Crews were able to get the fire under control in less than an hour. Luckily no one was hurt.

The American Red Cross they were able to provide emergency aid to the nine people right away. They are working get them financial assistance for necessities such as shelter, food and clothing.
