DMV warns of rising car thefts

The Department of Motor Vehicles is warning of a rise in auto thefts statewide.

The DMV says thefts rose 54% last year.

DMV is offering these tips to reduce the risk:

  • Do not leave your vehicle title in the car
  • Never leave your car running and unattended
  • Avoid leaving valuables inside your vehicle where passersby can see them.
